A lot has changed since 2004. The last survey of the Twin Cities Jewish community was executed nearly fifteen years ago. The Harry Kay Charitable Foundation has generously partnered with the Minneapolis and St. Paul Jewish Federations to commission a new population study.
Chaired by Robin Neidorf and Rachel Resnick, we formed a Twin Cities Jewish Population Study working group. The first task of the working group was to solicit and select a research partner for this study. The group selected Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University to conduct our primary research. Then, in June 2019, we held four sessions with our lead researcher, Dr. Janet Krasner Aronson. At that time she shared this Twin Cities Population Study timeline:
